Save More of Your Most Valuable Asset

How many times have you said, I wish I had just a little more time. More time to finish a project, clean the house, mow the lawn, or relax. That is because time is our most valuable asset. What if you planned only a bit better? I had the opportunity to work with a highly successful marketing professional in the Los Angeles Area. It became clear that she was a master planner. She would plan time to plan! Too often, you see marketing campaigns fail due to a lack of preparation.

These insights will help keep your marketing efforts on track through effective planning

Plan time to plan – Planning takes time! Each day we are pulled in numerous directions in our daily lives. We have meetings, project deadlines, family requirements, and everyone needs a little me time too. It requires time and energy to formulate an effective way to tackle our daily obligations. Fortunately, Google Calendar is a great free tool that can help you organize. Features including multiple calendars for different parts of life, invite friends and colleagues to events, group calendars and so much more

Be Realistic – Perhaps this is the hardest things to do, especially if you have that type A personality. It is easy to shoot for the stars; just don’t be disappointed when you end up on the moon. Marketing projects take time, and there are often unforeseen delays and revisions. Plan for it! Leave extra time if you finish early, great, move on to the next thing on your to-do list. It is an excellent way to keep moving forward in a positive direction and without putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.

Be Flexible – It is always good to go into the day, week, month, or even a year with some organization. However, you cannot fixate on those plans. Sometimes deadlines come up, and meetings get moved, people get sick. However, with all the modern scheduling tools available, it is easy to find a drag and drop application that can meet your scheduling needs.

Take Advantage of the Slow Times – All business have ebbs and flows. With content management systems, it is easier than ever to plan. Schedule your social media posts for upcoming events and drives with an application like Hootsuite. Develop content for later consumption; content is still king when it comes to positive marketing outcomes. Sometimes all you need is to clear your head on top of a mountain.
